During the 80's and early 90's Thomas was lead-singer and keyboardist for a nationally touring band, "15 minutes" (aka Exquisite Fashion) - playing as many as 300 dates per year, headlining and opening for regional and national acts. Along with co-members Eric Johnson, Marc Johnson and Stephe Blansette; Thomas honed his skills for live performance and songwriting.
From 1993 to 2000, Thomas was a composer and audio engineer at one of the leading recording studios in Indiana, TRC Recording Studios. During those years, he worked on many hundreds of radio, television and album projects. One of Thomas' fortés during these years was writing music for picture. Thomas composed music for clients including The Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, and HBO, to name a few. Thomas also composed and recorded the music for four seasons of a nationally syndicated, weekly television program that aired in over 150 network markets throughout the country – Game Warden Wildlife Journal.
At the end of 1999, Thomas put away his guitars and keyboards to focus on growing the interactive media company that he had started. However, Thomas never lost his love for music, and after years without a single recorded note, he decided it had been too long! After restringing his guitars and dusting off his keyboards, Thomas returned to music – This time with a focus on songwriting.

2006 brought the release of “I Am Free” a 10 song compilation of songs written, performed and engineered by Thomas.

In 2011 Thomas released an EP titled "Wait". This time, Thomas elicited the help of Alan Johnson (Engineer/Producer extraordinaire), Dane Clark on drums and Gary Mielke on Bass.
Thomas continues to compose and record postscore music for various projects and music libraries, and writing and recording original songs.
